Upon arrival at NJP Railway Station or Bagdogra Airport (IXB), meet and greet with our representative before driving to Phuentsholing, the gateway to Bhutan. This vibrant commercial hub on the Indo-Bhutan border is a bustling town offering a blend of Indian and Bhutanese cultures. On arrival, complete immigration formalities and check in at the hotel. After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive to Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan. The journey passes through picturesque landscapes, winding mountain roads, and lush greenery. On arrival, check in at the hotel and relax. In the evening, visit the impressive Tashichho Dzong from the outside, a majestic fortress and the seat of the Bhutanese government. Overnight stay at Thimphu.
After breakfast, explore Thimphu’s cultural and historical highlights. Visit Kuensel Phodrang (Buddha Dordenma), home to a massive golden Buddha statue offering panoramic views of the valley. Stop by the National Memorial Chorten, a spiritual landmark built in memory of Bhutan’s third king. Continue to Wangditse Lhakhang, a scenic 40-minute hike leading to a beautiful temple. Experience Bhutan’s traditions at Simply Bhutan, an interactive museum showcasing local lifestyle and heritage. In the afternoon, visit the Thangtong Dewachen Nunnery, the BBS Tower for a bird’s-eye view of Thimphu, and the National Library, which houses an extensive collection of Buddhist manuscripts. Stroll through the Centenary Farmers’ Market, where local handicrafts and produce are sold, and explore the Craft Bazaar for authentic Bhutanese souvenirs. Overnight stay at Thimphu.
After breakfast, drive to Punakha/Wangdue. En route, stop at Dochu-La Pass (3,150m), where on a clear day, you can witness breathtaking views of the snow-capped Himalayan ranges. The pass is adorned with 108 memorial chortens. Upon arrival in Punakha, visit Punakha Dzong, a stunning fortress built in 1637 that once served as Bhutan’s administrative center and winter residence for the monastic body. Take a short hike to Chimi Lhakhang, also known as the "Temple of Fertility," dedicated to Lama Drukpa Kunley, the Divine Madman. Before returning, visit Bhutan’s longest Suspension Bridge, offering spectacular valley views. Evening at leisure. Overnight stay at Punakha.
After breakfast, take a scenic drive to Gangtey (Phobjikha Valley), one of Bhutan’s most beautiful glacial valleys. This serene valley is home to the rare and endangered Black-Necked Cranes, which migrate here from Tibet in winter. Visit the Gangtey Monastery, a historic 17th-century Nyingmapa monastery overlooking the valley. Enjoy the breathtaking landscapes and peaceful surroundings before returning to Punakha/Wangdue in the evening. Overnight stay at Punakha.
After breakfast, drive to Paro, enjoying scenic stops along the way. On arrival, visit the Paro Riverfront for a stunning view of the valley and the Paro Airport Viewpoint, one of the world's most scenic airport landings. Explore Ta Dzong, home to the National Museum, showcasing an impressive collection of ancient artifacts, textiles, and Buddhist relics. Visit Rinpung Dzong, meaning the “Fortress of the Heap of Jewels,” which is a fine example of Bhutanese architecture. Later, visit the Museum of Lights, which displays Bhutan’s transformation before and after electricity. Spend the evening at leisure. Overnight stay at Paro.
After breakfast, embark on a thrilling hike to Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest), Bhutan’s most iconic landmark perched on a cliff at 3,120 meters. This sacred monastery, built in the 17th century, is believed to be the meditation site of Guru Padmasambhava. The hike takes about 5-6 hours round trip, offering breathtaking valley views along the way. If time permits, visit Drukgyel Dzong, an ancient fortress with historical significance. Alternatively, visit Sangchen Chokhor Monastery for stunning views of Paro Valley. In the evening, experience Bhutanese culture by trying traditional Bhutanese attire and shopping in Paro town. Overnight stay at Paro.
