On arrival at Paro Airport, meet and greet with the tour representative before transferring to Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan. The scenic drive of approximately two hours passes through picturesque valleys, flowing rivers, and traditional villages. Upon arrival in Thimphu, check in at the hotel and relax. In the evening, visit Tashichhoe Dzong (outer view), a stunning fortress and monastery that serves as the seat of Bhutan’s government and religious institutions. Take a leisurely walk through Thimphu town, exploring local markets and shops. Overnight stay in Thimphu.
After breakfast, begin a full-day sightseeing tour of Thimphu. Visit Kuensel Phodrang, home to the towering Buddha Dordenma statue, offering a panoramic view of the valley. Stop by a Hindu Temple, followed by an outer view of the National Memorial Chorten, a revered monument built in memory of Bhutan’s third king. Take a short 40-minute hike to Simply Bhutan, a living museum showcasing Bhutanese culture and traditions. In the afternoon, visit a Nunnery, followed by a stop at BBS Tower, offering a bird’s-eye view of Thimphu. Explore the National Library, which houses ancient manuscripts, and visit the Centenary Farmer Market, where you can find local produce and handicrafts. End the day at the Craft Bazaar, an excellent spot for shopping. Overnight stay in Thimphu.
After breakfast, drive to Punakha/Wangdue, a journey of approximately three hours. En route, stop at Dochu-La Pass (3,150 meters), a breathtaking viewpoint offering panoramic views of the Himalayan mountain range on clear days. In the afternoon, visit Punakha Dzong, a majestic fortress built in 1637, which served as Bhutan’s administrative and religious center. The dzong remains the winter residence of the monastic body. Take a short uphill 30-minute hike to the Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten, a beautifully adorned temple built by the Queen Mother. On the way back, visit the Punakha Suspension Bridge, one of the longest in Bhutan, offering stunning views of the river and valley. The evening is free for leisure. Overnight stay in Punakha.
After breakfast, embark on a full-day excursion to Gangtey (Phobjikha Valley), a serene and picturesque valley located at an altitude of 3,000 meters. This area is home to the rare Black-Necked Cranes, which migrate from Tibet in the winter. Visit the Gangtey Monastery (Gompa), an important Buddhist center, followed by the Crane Information Center, where you can learn more about the conservation of these magnificent birds. After breakfast, drive to Paro. On the way, stop near the riverbank for scenic views and visit the Paro Airport Viewpoint, offering a stunning perspective of the world’s most challenging landing strip. Explore Ta Dzong – National Museum, home to an impressive collection of Bhutanese artifacts, relics, and traditional Thangka paintings. Visit Rinpung Dzong, meaning "Fortress of the Heap of Jewels," known for its beautiful architecture. Discover the Museum of Lights, which showcases Bhutan’s journey before and after the arrival of electricity. In the evening, try traditional Bhutanese attire and enjoy leisure time exploring Paro town. Overnight stay in Paro.
After breakfast, take an adventurous hike to Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest), Bhutan’s most iconic landmark. Perched on a cliff at 3,120 meters, this sacred monastery offers breathtaking views and spiritual significance. Later, if time permits, visit Drukgyel Dzong, an ancient fortress that once defended Bhutan from Tibetan invasions. Overnight stay in Paro.

After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive to Chele-La Pass (3,988 meters), the highest motorable road in Bhutan. Enjoy breathtaking views of the snow-capped mountains, lush valleys, and yaks grazing along the slopes. Spend time taking in the natural beauty and capturing memorable photographs before returning to Paro. In the evening, try traditional Bhutanese attire and shop in the local market. Overnight stay in Paro.
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and transfer to Paro Airport for your onward journey, carrying cherished memories of Bhutan’s beauty, spirituality, and hospitality.
